PERU PREP INFO

As you may already know, Marsha and I are taking a team to Lima on September 11 for a 12 day mission trip.  Our trip is timed to coincide with the anniversary celebration of the church of our first Peruvian son and daughter, Jose and Raquel Vicente’.  During their celebration we will be presenting a God’s Blueprint for Marriage seminar.  Our book, which is based on the material we will present at the seminar, is being translated into Spanish, and should be available for distribution when we are in Lima.

Marsha, and the two women traveling with us, Sandy Fowler and Diana Velasquez, will speak at a Mujeres de Valor (Women of Worth) conference while we are there.  Mueres de Valor is ministry Marsha established in Lima several years ago.  As the name implies, the ministry’s goal is to help women realize they are valuable in God’s kingdom and in His church.  We’ve seen the dynamic impact this ministry has had, and look forward to seeing God continue to work through the ministry.

The women will also be ministering in the Compassion International school in the San Martin District of Lima.  That school is hosted by the church led by our close friend, Pastor Juan de Dios Huaman.  And we will all be sharing the love of Jesus in churches throughout the Lima area, bringing a message of hope and encouragement.  Our schedule is virtually full, and we are praying for God to give us His divine strength to fulfill our commitments.  Though it’s been difficult to do, we’ve had to turn down some ministry requests because we just could not fit them into our schedule.

Marsha and I deeply appreciate your prayers.  The intercessory support we have at home impacts the ministry in Peru more than any other single thing.

We also appreciate the financial support we receive from our ministry partners.  If you’d like to help financially, please send your gift to Word of Life Fellowship, 808 SW 14th St., Bentonville, AR 72712.  Memo your gift “Dixons Peru”.  A receipt for income tax purposes will be mailed to you at the end of the year.

Because so many follow us on social media, we have not been emailing updates on our trip, but posting them online, instead. But, if you’d like email updates please reply to this message, and the online posts will be emailed to you as well.  You’ll find me on Facebook or Twitter @pastorjimdixon, and Marsha on Facebook @marshastiredixon.  Or follow my blog at pastorjimdixon@wordpress.com.  Your messages of encouragement through Facebook, email or iMessage during our trip are always welcome!

Thank you so much for partnering with us.  We look forward to God doing great things both for us on our trip, and for you and your vita role in this ministry.  God bless!
