Greetings in Jesus’ Name!

You may have wondered what has happened to our ministry in Peru. Well, we are still active there, thanks to the Internet. However, we were unable to make it at all last year for a variety of reasons. However, we do expect that this year will be different. We have a trip planned in June, when we will once again participate in the Evangelical Church of Christ’s annual Pastors and Leafers Conference. We also hope to schedule at least one Marketplace Evangelism Workshop while we are there. Additionally, we will meet with many pastors, encouraging them in The Lord, and we will also fill our preaching schedule, teaching and preaching the love of Jesus Christ.

We also anticipate that Marsha will have an opportunity to hold a Mujeres De Valor (Women of Worth) Conference. Marsha co-founded that ministry several years ago to help women in Peru find their places in the body of Christ.

Marsha and I have found our hearts so knit with the people of Peru that I tell people, “Mi corazon es Peruano (my heart is Peruvian!)”  One of the blessings we have experienced in thirteen years of ministry in the same nation has been seeing the fruits of our labor.  That is especially true among the younger pastors and their families whose lives have been impactedand, and the women–particularly pastors’s wives–who have come out of the shadows to work alongside their husbands in ministry.

Accompanying us on the trip will be Pastor Miguel Carbajal, our church’s Hispanic pastor and, perhaps, Sandy Fowler.  Sandy has been with us in Peru many times and is a popular women’s conference speaker there.

Your partnership with us through your prayers and financial support make it possible to continue our work in Peru.  We can never thank you enough for being a part of what we do there.  Perhaps you would like to go with us this summer. We plan to leave around the first of June and be gone 10 days or so. I am sure we can keep you busy, and you life will be changed!  Please contact us for information.

Your prayers are so very important! I remember when I was in full time pastoral ministry I would receive missionary support letters asking for prayer and financial support.  I thought their primary motivation for writing was financial support.  However, having been to Peru 20 times or more, we realize that, while financial support is important, it is far overshadowed by the need for prayer support.

Of course, we do appreciate your financial support.  A quick check of airline ticket prices lists airfare at around $1000, and it changes almost daily.  Including travel, lodging and meals the trip will total about $2500-3000.  Your gift is tax-deductible. Please make checks payable to Word of Life Fellowship, and memo “Dixon-Peru”.

Thank you, again for partnering with us. We pray God’s exceedingly abundant blessings for you (Eph3:20).

In His Love,

Jim and Marsha Dixon
