In Acts 11:20, 21, Jesus was preached, and God’s hand–representing His Presense and Power–was on them. As a result, many people believed, turned (repented) and were saved. Three things are obvious to me. 1) Jesus was preached. Too many sermons say too little about Jesus. Yet He is the central theme of both the Old and New Testaments. 2) God’s Presence was known. It is the Holy Spirit’s presence that brings the true light of the message to the hearts of people. 3) His Power was manifested. We read throughout the four gospels and the book of Acts how signs and wonders took place, resulting in salvation. Though not specifically stated in Acts 11:21, I believe that when His word is preached and His presence is with us, His power will be manifested.
We need more Jesus preaching, more of His presence, and more of His power in our services. As a result, people will believe, turn (repent) and be saved. Amen!
