Greetings from Trujillo, Peru!
My flight to Lima was uneventful. I spent Tuesday night with our friends Bernabe and Susana Ardilles, then spent Wednesday shifting gears mentally from business to ministry. I talked with several friends in Lima, making arrangements to spend time with them when we return there Sunday night. Last night (Wednesday) we flew to Trujillo on another uneventful flight. God is so good to bless His children. I’ve already written about my round trip airline ticket that cost less than a round trip bus ticket to Trujillo.
Our adopted daughter, Maria Momojara, accompanied me on the flight to Trujillo. I learned en route she was planning to stay at the church this week, which meant sleeping on the floor, no bath facilities, little sleep, etc. But, thanks to a surprise gift from a close friend, I am able to pay for her to have a room here at the hotel. I love it when God uses us as a channel of blessing for others!
Today the conference begins. I will be speaking this afternoon about releasing the next generation into ministry. My text will be the story of David and Goliath. I don’t know what the total day holds, but I’m looking forward to reconnecting with friends and being used to God to bring change into people’s lives.
My prayer request, today, is that I remain alert to all opportunities, and that God will use me to help establish peace in a troubled time in Peru. The business community is in some turmoil because of the election of socialist Humala as president, and the Evangelical Church of Christ is in the midst of its struggle over leadership control disguised as doctrine issues.
Thank you for teaming up with us through your prayers and support. I’ll write more as time permits. God bless.
